For the marine Enthusiast, it is well known that the waters surrounding coral reefs are among the cleanest and the most beautiful in the world. So, if you intend to bring the beauty of a coral reef into your home, you must provide the cleanest water possible.
Ordinary tap water, contaminated by substances harmful to delicate aquatic life, is a growing problem for the concerned hobbyist. These toxic substances must be removed from the water to help insure your aquarium success is one of worry-free enjoyment.
SpectraPure offers a variety of Reverse Osmosis (R.O.) and Deionizing (D.I.) systems. These include our new improved wall-mounted CSP and CSP-DI models. Accessories can easily be added such as the drinking water kit, liquid level control, booster pumps, and the new SpectraPure Auto-Fill water replenishment system. Auto-Fill completely automates replacing the evaporated water in your aquarium, and then automatically fills an additional reservoir with purified water.
Going a stage beyond Reverse Osmosis (R.O.) Spectrapure has combined the most effective known methods of water purification into one integrated unit. Our new improved CSP-DI systems incorporate solid sediment and carbon block pre-filtration, an advanced Thin Film Composite (T.F.C.) R.O. membrane, and our custom formulated mixed bed deionization (D.I.) cartridge (no mess - easy to change D.I. cartridge).
The result is laboratory grade purified water, suitable for demanding ultra-high purity applications such as marine, reef and fresh water aquaria.
Tap water first passes through a high efficiency solid block sediment filter where silt, sediment and particulates are removed. Water is then forced through a solid block carbon which efficiently adsorbs chlorine, chloramines, pesticides, and other harmful organic chemicals.
The water, now stripped of membrane-damaging particles and chemicals, then flows into the R.O. module where pure water molecules are forced through the R.O. membrane leaving salts, bacteria, viruses, hardness and other impurities to be flushed from the system.
Reverse Osmosis membranes, although very good at removing contaminants, still allows trace amounts to pass through. Nitrates, phosphates and silica are among these substances that are not as efficiently removed. By further processing Reverse Osmosis water through mixed bed deionizing (D.I.) resins, even those difficult to remove chemicals, are reduced to almost undetectable levels.
Line Pressure Operated RO systems will:
SpectraPure Reverse Osmosis Systems provide superior rejection of ionic,
organic, and particulate impurities and thus produce contaminant-free water.
We use superior quality, 100% tested, TFC membranes in our RO systems.
Line-pressure operated systems operate on household water pressure.
Your feed water pressure should be between 40 - 100 psi. (2.75 - 6.9 bar).
TFC membranes used are rated at standard feed conditions of
60 psi (4.1 Bar) at 77F (25C), and 500 ppm TDS (750 uS conductivity).
Important Note: For every gallon of purified RO water there will be 3 gallons of waste water.
Countertop - Portable Two Stage. Provides high performance water filtration with an economical
configuration. This two stage system uses the same TFC membrane used in the CSP series. By omitting the wall
mount bracket and sediment pre-filter, a significant cost reduction is possible. Yet in low sediment feed water
applications, performance is equal to the CSP models. Includes TFC membrane, clear filter housing
and 5 micron carbon filter block pre-filter which greatly enhances chlorine and contaminant removal. Also includes a pressure gauge
to monitor pre-filter plugging. Order this model if you do not have a lot of sediment in your water. Deluxe
model includes a clear carbon filter housing.
Wall Mounted Three Stage. New Improved CSP Model comes standard with pressure gauge,
filter wrench and 3/4" standard connect. By replacing our spun polypropylene filter with a high
efficiency solid block sediment filter, we are now able for the first time to use a 0.5 micron carbon
block pre-filter. The 0.5 micron carbon block has greatly enhanced chloramine and chemical contaminant
removal while further protecting the TFC membrane from damage or plugging. Clear filter housings included.
Purity monitor optional.
SpectraPure Reverse Osmosis & Deionization Systems (RO/DI) provide superior rejection of ionic, organic, and particulate impurities and thus produce contaminant-free water. Line-pressure operated systems operate on household water pressure. We use superior quality, 100% tested, TFC membranes in our RO systems. TFC membranes used are rated at standard feed conditions of 60 PSI (4.1 Bar) at 77F (25C), and 500 ppm TDS (750 uS conductivity). Every single membrane is tested for flow and rejection. The deionization cartridges have a mixed-bed multi-layered design especially optimized for muse after RO and Distillation systems.
The addition of mixed bed D.I. provides the highest capacity removal of nitrates,
phosphates, silica, ammonia and other harmful contaminants. These ultra purified
resins, in no mess disposable cartridges have been rinsed of all traces of harmful
residual chemicals. The result is laboratory grade water suitable for the most demanding
ultra high purity water needs. RO/DI water use includes - marine/reef aquariums,
fresh water aquariums and many other high purity water uses. Standard electronic
purity monitor, unlike visible dye indicators, ensures exhausted D.I. cartridges
are quickly replaced prior to reintroducing captured impurities to the
water. Includes TFC membrane, 0.5 micron high efficiency solid block sediment filter,
0.5 micron carbon block filter, pressure gauge, clear filter housings, electronic
purity monitor and D.I. resins. The average life span of the resin cartridge is
between 300 to 900 gallons depending on the quality of the water being processed.
SpectraPlus systems are a major improvement over all other RO/DI Systems using single DI cartridges,
because they assure you never unexpectedly running out of DI water nor releasing contaminants from exhausted DI resins.
These systems come with two 10" Deionization cartridges with the electronic purity monitor between the first and second cartridges.
This provides a major advantage over systems using just one DI cartridge. When the purity light turns red, it indicates that only the first
cartridge is exhausted and that the second cartridge still has about 99% of it's original capacity left. By removing the exhausted
cartridge, rotating the second cartridge to the first position and putting a new cartridge in the second position,
you are assured of never releasing any contaminants into the water while maintaining extremely high levels
of purity. The electronic monitor gives you a 50% exhaustion point which is more than ample warning for replacement
of the second DI cartridge.
Going two stages beyond Reverse Osmosis (RO), SpectraPure has combined the most effective know methods of water purification into one integrated unit operating from line-pressure (no electricity required). Our new SpectraPlus RO/DI systems incorporate solid sediment and carbon-block pre-filtration, an advance Thin Film Composite RO membrane, and our custom-formulated multi-layered, mixed bed deionization cartridges. The result is laboratory grade purified water, suitable for demanding ultra-high purity applications.
Tap/well water first passed through a 0.5 micron micro-tec sediment filter where silt, sediment and particles
are removed. Water is then forced through a high efficiency 0.5 carbon block filter. This matrix of micro-pulverized
carbon efficiently adsorbs chlorine, chloramines, pesticides and other harmful organic chemicals. The water,
now stripped of membrane damaging particles and chemicals, flows into the RO module where filter water molecules are forced through
the RO membrane leaving salts, hardness, bacteria, viruses, pyrogens and other impurities to be flushed from the system. Reverse
Osmosis membranes, although very good at removing contaminants, still allow trace amounts to pass through.
Nitrates, phosphates and silica are among these substances not fully removed. By further processing RO water through two multi-layered, mixed-bed
deionization cartridges, even those difficult to remove chemicals are reduced to virtually undetectable levels.
The SpectraPlus systems standard with a 10" 0.5 micron sediment pre-filter, a 10" 0.5 micron carbon block pre-filter, a Thin
Composite membrane, two 10" DI cartridges, easy to use electronic purity monitor, pressure-gauge (to indicate pre-filter replacement and
input line pressure gauge.
In a continual effort to provide the reef aquarist with the latest and best
technological improvements, SpectraPure introduces the new SPECTRA+2000 RO/DI System. SpectraPure's new
99% UltraHigh Rejection Membranes have the highest rejection available and remove twice as much silica,
phosphates and nitrates as 98% rejection membranes. These UltraHigh Rejection Membranes produce a much
higher purity reverse osmosis water then conventional TFC membranes. This in combination with our
super-capacity two-bed deionizing system provides the ultimate removal of algae promoting substances
and the longest deionizing cartridge life, significantly reducing the cost of ownership.
SpectraPure's deluxe drinking water systems (DWS's) operate entirely on city water pressure -
no electricity required It offers you a superior four-stage filtration which combines 2 pre-filters
(0.5 micron micro-tec sediment & 0.5 micron carbon block) with a TFC membrane and a 60 cu. inch,
granulated post carbon filter. The water first passes through the pre-filters. where sediment,
chlorine, pesticides and many other organic chemicals are removed. Water then flows into the
RO module where dissolved solids (hardness, sodium heavy metals), bacteria, viruses are removed.
The filtered water is then collected in a pressurized storage tank. After the tank is full, the
automatic shut-off valve turns the system off. When water is withdrawn from the unit, it passes
through the final carbon polishing filter, assuring fresh, great tasting drinking water every
time the system includes a pressure-gauge which makes it easy to trouble-shoot. A 15-2O% drop
in the feed water pressure indicates pre-filter plugging. The pressurized storage tanks are
available in 3 and 10 gallon sizes. The system also comes with code-approved air-gap faucet,
manual tank shut-off valve. an auto-shut off valve & a filter wrench for easy cartridge replacement.
Options available for above: Electronic purity meter, Ice maker kit, Sump kit, Clear filter housings.
Systems are available with three or ten gallon storage tanks.
Products manufactured by SpectraPure, Inc. are warranted to the original user to be free of defects in material and workmanship for a period of two years from the date of the receipt. The disposable filters are not covered under warranty. The TFC membrane has a one year pro-rated warranty.
MBDI-1 - Single cartridge, when fed by a high performance R.O. system
gives results comparable to our CSP-DI systems.
MBDI-2 - For additional purity and capacity, our dual cartridge Retro-fit kit provides even greater contaminant removal.
Retro-fit systems include mounting bracket, tubing, fittings, and electronic purity monitor.
Caution: The deionization cartridge life is greatly reduced when operated on low pH waters or water with high CO2 levels. Aeration or Degassification of RO product water is recommended for such waters for removal of carbon dioxide.
Kit includes Amtrol 3 gallon pressurized holding tank, with manual tank shut-off valve,
a water conserving auto shut-off valve, code approved Touch-Flo air-gap faucet, 10" post-carbon
filter, and all necessary tubing and fittings.
The auto shut-off valve maintains a constant supply of stored water and shuts off water going to drain
when the tank is full. The 10" post-carbon filter removes any bad taste or odor
and the code-approved air-gap faucet mounts at your kitchen sink for quick,
convenient dispensing on demand.
Liquid level controller for Single Tanks (LLC-S) is a the most advanced means of controlling
liquid levels on single or multiple reservoirs and is ideal for replenishing evaporate water in aquariums or liquids
in other constant level containers. An on-board air pressure activated electrical switch opens a solenoid valve when the liquid level drops
approximately 1" and closes it when the liquid level rises back to the original level. Research at Spectrapure shows
that the liquid level controller provides a significant advantage over conventional float and back-pressure activated
automatic shut-off valves by maximizing the duration of membrane operation. This minimizes the build up of impurities due to
membrane creep (the small amount of impure water that is characteristic of the membrane at the onset of pure water production).
LLC requires no drilling and all wetted components are constructed of inert and saltwater safe materials. Power is
provided by a plug-in 24 volt AC (UL listed and CSA approved) transformer. Highly recommended!
Prevents overfilling and floods. After flooding my basement twice, I now use one!
The single reservoir model comes with the LLC unit (which includes a switched 24 VAC outlet for controlling a booster pump
or other 24 VAC operated devices), compression fittings and 10 feet of tubing for remote mounting of the sensor.

SpectraPure´s liquid level controller (LLC) is the most advanced means of controlling liquid levels on single or multiple reservoirs and is ideal for replenishing evaporated water in aquariums or liquids in other constant level containers. A sensitive air pressure switch opens a solenoid valve when the liquid level drops approximately 1" and closes it when the liquid level rises back to its original level. Research at SpectraPure shows that the liquid level controller provides a significant advantage over conventional float and back-pressure activated automatic shut-off valves by maximizing the duration of membrane operation. This minimizes the build up of impurities due to membrane creep (the small amount of impure water that is a characteristic of the membrane at the onset of pure water production). LLC requires no drilling and all wetted components are constructed of inert and salt-water safe materials. Power is provided by a plug-in 24 volt AC (UL listed and CSA approved) transformer. The multiple reservoir model comes with the LLC unit (which includes a switched 24 VAC outlet for controlling a booster pump or other 24 VAC operated devices), compression fittings, 10 feet of tubing for remote mounting of the sensor, a Turbo Bladder, auto shutoff valve, ball valve, check valves and fittings and one float valve for one additional reservoir. The system may be expanded to include more reservoirs by adding the optional LLC expansion kit (see table below). For additional overflow protection a secondary mechanical float is also included with every LLC. |
|
The Power Liquid Level Controller uses a sensitive air pressure switch to energize or de-energize an AC outlet which can be used to switch a power head or a 115 volt pump up to 3 Amps continuous duty. The unit can be set to turn a pump on or off with changing water level and is extremely useful for continuous water change systems. |

SpectraPure FLC provides an economical way to automatically fill open reservoir storage tanks. The automatic shut-off valve in conjunction with the mini-bladder provides positive shut-off and completely shuts off the waste water and product water lines thus conserving water. Float level controller includes ASO valve, stainless steel float, check valve, mini-bladder tank, a straight ball valve, tubing and necessary fittings. Buy one float kit for filling every additional sump or reservoir. Our float kit (SPFK) includes a stainless steel float, union T, and other necessary fittings. The installation of float requires a 9/16" mounting hole in the tank. Note: Do not use the float level controller for automatic replenishment of evaporated water. For those applications, we recommend either our SpectraPure Auto-Fill system (SAF) or our liquid level controller (LLC). |
Pressure Gauge - Add to existing systems for easy monitoring and trouble shooting of your RO, RO/DI or drinking water systems. For adding pressure gauge to 15, 25, 35 & 50 systems.
Quick-Connect, Faucet Coupler with Aerator - Connects any model to house faucet.
Universal Faucet Adapter - Connects to any style faucet (international).
Float Kit (SPFK) - Float kit includes a stainless steel float, union T, and other necessary fittings.
Electronic Purity Monitor - (RO/DI), 0.25 to 50 PPM set points.
Replacement Carbon Block Pre-Filter - 5 micron for CHP. 0.5 micron for CSP models. Carbon Block filters remove chlorine, organic chemicals and chemicals that contribute to taste and odor. These filters act as almost absolute-rated sediment filters. They are much more efficient than the granulated carbon filters because there is no channeling or bypassing of fluids. They also have higher adsorptive efficiency and higher turbidity reduction than granular filters.
Replacement Micro-Tec Solid Block Sediment Removal Pre-Filter - 0.5 micron for CSP & CSP-DI models.
High efficiency depth gradient density filter cartridges with almost absolute micron ratings. Strongly recommended for areas with extremely high sediment levels. The gradient pore structure of these cartridges captures larger particles in the outer sections of the filter cartridge while providing highly efficient and consistent removal of smaller particles in the inner most sections. The proprietary core provides the cartridge with greater mechanical strength and temperature resistance than core less melt blown filter cartridges. These cartridges are constructed of 100% high purity polypropylene and are surfactant, binder and adhesive free.
Replacement Micro-Spun Sediment Removal Pre-Filter - 1.0 micron for CSP & CSP-DI models. Micro-Spun cartridge's gradient density affords substantially increased filter life and effectiveness over string wound and pleated sediment filters. These filters remove larger particles which blind-off ordinary surface filters on their outer layers, while reducing the finer particles on their inner layers. The design maximizes the utilization of the filtration en-us/media. There are no leachables or extractables from these filters as they are made of 100% virgin polypropylene en-us/media.
Replacement Mixed Bed DI No-Mess Cartridge - For CSP-DI models.
Mixed bed multi-layer deionization cartridges are fabricated with semiconductor
grade resins for the highest purity. They are capable of producing greater than
17 MegaOhms/cm purity water. They are the first deionization cartridges designed
to reduce silica, nitrates & phosphate levels in the low ppb range. These
newly formulated cartridges far exceed the performance of previous cartridges, offering
enhanced contaminant removal, longer life and higher purity.
Replacement Mixed Bed Color Change DI No-Mess Cartridge - Same as above with color changing from
purple to yellow when DI Resins are exhausted. IMPORTANT NOTE: DI cartridges have a shelf life of one year. The average life span of the resin cartridge is between 300 to 900 gallons depending on the quality of the water being processed.
Resins - One gallon mixed non-indicating anion & cation resins.
Resins - One gallon mixed indicating anion & cation resins.
